The Driftless Glen Distillery in Baraboo, WI

This beautiful distillery is nestled along the Baraboo River and next to Circus World Museum. The architecture of the building is striking with a tall belfry on the front that houses the main stil. Once inside you are greeted with high ceilings and a beautiful half moon bar along with large windows to take in the view of the Baraboo River. If your wanting to enjoy the deck that aligns itself with the river, you have the option of sitting outside and listening to the sound of the cascading water.

Chosen for our great water and location, Baraboo is in the Driftless area of Wisconsin. The Driftless Area is located in the American Midwest including southwestern Wisconsin, southeastern Minnesota, northeastern Iowa, and northwestern Illinois. The area is noted by the deeply carved river valleys after having escaped glaciation in the last glacial period.

Owners Brian and Renee Bemis have done a wonderful job of creating a beautiful distillery and restaurant in Baraboo.  Baraboo locals are fortunate that we get to enjoy the distillery regularly with delicious food and and drink specials throughout the week while tourist make this a definite stop on their vacation.

The GPOE and Spa Serenity Driftless Glen Distillery Tour

GPOE  and Spa Serenity recently toured the Driftless Glen Distillery in Baraboo Wisconsin. Prior to beginning our tour we grabbed ourselves a drink from the beautifully lit  bar. There are so many delicious drinks to choose from.  From Martinis to Old Fashions, Driftless Glen Distillery does it right.

Their Old Fashions are amazing , along with the  Martinis, Whiskey Drinks, Bloody Mary’s and more. I love their Naughty pickle Martini it is a bloody mary in martini form , oh my YUM!  Another favorite is Weekend Vibes this drink screams summer, as you sip the sweet crispness of Driftless Glen Cucumber Vodka!

We were then led into the barrel room and looked on in awe, the perfectly lined barrels reaching ceiling to floor is a jaw dropping site to see. Now time for the tasting, several samples were lined before us to enjoy. Scott gave us brief explanation of each sample, we tried Driftless Glen Cucumber flavored Vodka, Wiscongin, 5 year reserved Brandy, Bourbon Whiskey and Rivershine S’mores moonshine, they were all mouthwatering!  We had worked up an appetite and couldn’t wait to sit by the river and get some great food. We started with dessert and it was AMAZING! I think at this point I have actually tried almost all of the desserts at Driftless and they are all sinfully delicious. I would recommend them all, if your in a light mood try the key lime pie but if your wanting something to moan about then get the bourbon brownie. I have also eaten at the Distillery many times but on the day of the tour I enjoyed their burger for the first time and it was perfect, I had the cheesy butternut orzo as my side and I would absolutely have that meal again!  We parted ways and left happy and full, now that we have more knowledge about some of their liquors, we ladies have some new products we would like to try next time we dine and drink at the Distillery.
