Sauk County Fair – GPOE on Tour

 

GPOE is on tour at the Sauk County Fair in Baraboo Wisconsin. The first fair took place in 1855 making this the 164th anniversary.

Once you enter the free walk in gate you will be met with all the classic sights and sounds the fair brings with it. The midway lights, the jubilant screams from children enjoying the rides and games, and of course the smell of the vendors food being enjoyed by fair-goers. The beer tent has entertainment every night of the week and a local food stand is attached should you feel hungry. Grandstand shows include concerts, truck and tractor pulls, the demolition derby, ATV racing and much more. For 2019 the opening musical act is Jimmy Nick and Don’t Tell Mama, while the headliner is  The Marshall Tucker Band.

 

Ladies Night at the Sauk County Fair

Ladies night at the fair is always the first Tuesday of fair week, this is the 7th annual ladies night. Ladies night is a time to come out and enjoy strolling through the pavilion while shopping and finding out about different area businesses. You never know what vendors will be at ladies night and more are added every year making this a wonderful kick off to fair week.

Sauk County Fair Brings Togetherness

Although the fair is only a week long people have put time and effort into this event and possibly even all year, with events happening throughout the week like animal judging. 4-H is a big part of the fair and we love to see the animals being shown. 2019 Fairest of the Fair is Brandi Zick, Junior Fairest of the Fair is Alexis Strunz. The fair holds so many traditions and memories for so many people. Some people come for the food, some for the rides, some just to grab a beer and say hi to old friends.Whatever the reason you’re sure to have a great time and enjoy this yearly tradition.
