Our Journey: From Local Origins to a Social Movement

The Greatest Place on Earth brand traces its roots back to a local church camp in the 1990s, where one of our beloved community mothers, Teri Fichter, first introduced our cornerstone logo. In 2015, driven by a shared passion for Baraboo’s spirit, two enterprising individuals, Lacey Steffes from Spa Serenity and Gretchen Pointon from Absolute Imprints, resurrected the logo and launched the Greatest Place on Earth brand. Initially envisioning a few t-shirts, we were pleasantly surprised as the brand gained immense popularity.

Locals embraced our shirts, craving more ways to display their community pride. What followed was a social media movement, where individuals proudly sported their Greatest Place on Earth shirts, hats, and water bottles, spreading the spirit of our community across the digital landscape. Baraboo, The Greatest Place on Earth, became a resounding shout-out, resonating with pride and unity.

Expanding Horizons and Supporting Local Business

Since our humble beginnings, we have grown exponentially. Starting with t-shirts, we swiftly expanded our merchandise range, offering long-sleeved shirts, hoodies, mugs, stickers, magnets, glassware, kids’ clothes, and water bottles. You can find the complete line of Greatest Place on Earth merch at Spa Serenity in Downtown Baraboo, our flagship store.

Our GPOE Truck made its debut in late 2018, serving as a mobile hub for Greatest Place on Earth merch, allowing us to reach every corner of the community. Building on that success, we introduced GPOE on Tour in 2019, hosting exciting pop-up events at both new and familiar local venues. These gatherings have become the perfect platform to unveil new merchandise, gather the community, and show support for local businesses.
