The Baraboo community is blessed with people who love the area. With all Baraboo has to offer it’s easy to boast about our small town. Baraboo is surrounded by beautiful bluffs and scenic Devil’s lake state park. We now have a distillery, a brewery, and two wineries! Our downtown is thriving with shops, restaurants, coffee shops, and more.

For the love of Baraboo is The Greatest Place on Earth Brand. It all started with an upbeat and fun lady named Teri Fichter. Terri put together the logo for a church camp. Some years later, Lacey Steffes asked to use the logo and collaborated with Gretchen Pointon from Absolute Imprints. Lacey’s idea was to create a brand for people to wear proudly and take the Baraboo vibe with them wherever they may go. So in 2018, Lacey purchased the GPOE truck in order to create a mobile store and promote other businesses in the area. Then the GPOE on tour began in the early spring of 2019. Since we have visited and promoted 15 area businesses in Baraboo and Wisconsin Dells area. The Greatest Place on Earth Brand encourages you to wear your shirts and gear while out and about. It could be Baraboo or it could be your special place by the lake. Where is your greatest place on earth?
Baraboo Social Club is owned by Jimmy and Vicki Kimbell. They opened their doors in February 2018 with the intention of creating a barbershop that would prove to be authentic and true to the 1950’s. As soon as you pull up to BSC, you can feel the cool vintage vibe starting with the 50’s sign. Besides a fresh haircut, the shop has a great conversation in a chill environment. You can purchase Baraboo Social Club merchandise. You can also join the member’s tag club, which allows you to be entered in a monthly haircut giveaway. Recently, Jimmy created shirts saying Keep Baraboo a Secret. Sshhhh, don’t tell anyone how cool Baraboo is!
The Baraboo Area Chamber of Commerce is a promoter and resource for businesses in the community. For the Love of Baraboo couldn’t be without the Baraboo Area Chamber of Commerce. Residents and visitors of the Baraboo area can benefit from visiting the Chamber of Commerce in in-person or website. The chamber’s Executive Director Daren Hornby, and staff are dedicated to promoting and educating the community and tourists about Baraboo. Recently they have rebranded themselves with a new logo and catchphrase of Discover Real Baraboo.
The Kindness Co. has been bringing quality goods to the skateboard community since 2018. A portion of every Kindness sale goes to the Baraboo Community Skatepark fund. All in all, within the first year of business, they have raised $3,500 for the skatepark through various events such as their free skate camps. Creator of the Kindness Co. Trent Maxwel wants to help the skaters, especially Baraboo’s youth to have a great place to go, to get outside and keep on skating. They have some awesome apparel and accessories for you to show your support! In 2020 they are planning on opening a store in Downtown Baraboo but in the meantime, you can get their merchandise at pop-up events so follow their facebook to get up-to-date information.
Ski Hi fruit farm was started in 1907 by Arthur Komp Bassett and is still a family-owned orchard. Baraboo locals and tourists love to visit the orchard with its scenic 50 acres and approximately 8,000 trees. So, while at the orchard, you can enjoy the Bassett family historic cabin, orchard, petting farm, barn area, tractors, apple fritters, pies, cider donuts, and or course, apples. All in all, Ski Hi Market has hats, shirts, coffee mugs, jellies, salsa, and much much more. Owner Betty and Manager Jake Franzen take pride in the facility and apples.
